Hanna Ben Dov was an Israeli abstract painter.
Born in 1919, Jerusalem, Israel. Died in 2008, Paris, France.
Ben Dov defined herself as an Israeli-Jerusalem artist, although she lived mainly in Paris. At the beginning she painted still life and portraits, and then moved to a restrained abstract painting, but always integrated in her work influences from "L'ecole de Paris" and "Israeli" shades. Ben Dov paints colorful surfaces that build themselves in the creative process, creating a stimulus-response relationship between a colored stain and another. The result is a restrained, refined harmony.
Ben Dov exhibited dozens of exhibitions in Israel, Paris and Europe.
A large selection of her works is in major collections in Paris, New York and Israel.
In 1969 she had a solo exhibition at the Jerusalem Museum
