Benni Efrat is an international Israeli artist. Efrat is a multidisciplinary artist who creates in a conceptual, minimalist way.

Born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1936.

Efrat is one of the first Israeli artists who worked in the field of conceptual art. His works are based on absolute unity between the content and the form. His paintings are based on elementary, geometric elements and create a simple aesthetic, universal in nature.

The works of Benni Efrat have been presented in a large number of solo and group exhibitions in Israel and around the world, including: the Israel Museum, Jerusalem (1972), the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (1974), the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (1977), and twice at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (1979, 1999).

His works are included in important museums and collections around the world.

Most of Benni Efrat's activity was outside of Israel, yet his work influenced local artists, and he was recognized by the Israeli establishment. Efrat won the Sandberg Award for Israeli Art, Israel Museum, Jerusalem (1974), the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Award (1992), the Haim Gamzo Award, Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2002) and the Lifetime Achievement Award in the field of plastic arts (2017).
