Ephraim (Yafim) Roeytenberg, known as "Fima".
Born in 1914,
Fima's work is related to reality but is essentially abstract. He created art that merges European tradition of abstract painting with Chinese calligraphy. The calm harmonies are confronted with the dynamics of the calligraphic strokes. The result is always refined and aesthetic.
Fima had exhibitions in numerous galleries in Israel and abroad.
Fima exhibited at the IsraelMuseum, Jerusalem in 1970, the Jewish Museum in New York in 1972, the Barbican Centre in London in 1990, and had a solo exhibition at the Tel Aviv Museum in 1976.
