Henry Shelesnyak was an artist, painter and photographer.
Born in1938, New York, U.S.A.
Died in 1980. Tel-aviv, Israel.

Shlzyniak was a rare link, in real time, between New York and Tel Aviv. In his works he used non-traditional materials: plywood panels, industrial paints, stencils of letters, stamps, wallpaper and collage. To them he added geometrical shapes with a pencil. The color palette he used was in the light shades and white, which united all the details and created a minimalist, harmonious and aesthetic painting.
Shelesnyak was an "artist of artists", that is, an artist admired by his fellow artists. Only after his death did Shelesnyak receive the attention of the establishment, which was missing while he was alive

Henry Shelesnyak participated in group exhibitions and exhibited solo exhibitions in galleries.
In 1969 he exhibited a solo exhibition at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, and in 1985 the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Tel Aviv, presented a solo exhibition of his works.
